A certificate arrives within a day of sponsorship. The verified report follows the harvest, which means the summer after the metres go in the water. Both carry the same serial, and the serial resolves to a public record of that rope.

What the certificate is the cover of.
The annual report is where the detail sits. It is the part that takes a year, and the part most sponsorship schemes leave out.
Your rope
- Line number, seeding date, lift date
- Fresh weight per metre against the farm mean
- Photographs of your section at lift
- What the season did, including the bad weeks
The water
- Species recorded on and around the line
- eDNA results, start and end of season
- Habitat area attributed to your metres
- Sea temperature and its effect on yield
The land
- Which land farm took the harvest, and how far it went
- Soil organic matter before and after
- What the farmer changed as a result
- Share of your payment that reached the coast
It is a slow product.
There is one growing season a year and the kelp sets it. It seems better to be clear about the wait than to build a dashboard that updates daily and says little.
Day one
Certificate issued with the farm, the metres and the serial. Gift recipients get theirs direct.
October to December
Lines deployed. You get the deployment note with the line number and site photographs.
April to June
Harvest lifted and delivered to the land farm within forty-eight hours. Harvest note follows.
The following summer
Verified annual report, reviewed by an independent academic partner before it goes out.
