Sponsor where you actually operate.

Beyond value chain mitigation tends to land better when it is near something. A distribution hub in Rotterdam and a data centre in Dublin are not obviously helped by a tree in Peru. Pick the coasts your business touches and put rope in them.

Four ways in

All on the same mechanism.

Whichever route you take, the underlying transaction is the same: metres of rope at a named farm, grown for a season, harvested to a land farm nearby and reported against the Holdfast Standard.

Pair a Farm

Match a farm to a site, a region or a market you operate in.

  • The farm, its grower and its land partner, named and yours for the term
  • Annual Holdfast Standard report for that site
  • Co-branded farm page and photography you can use
  • Site visit for staff or customers during harvest

Employee and customer schemes

Metres as a joining gift, a long-service marker or a team allocation.

  • Staff or customers choose their own coast
  • Certificates issued automatically, one invoice to you
  • Shared dashboard so a team can see its total
  • Customers can add to your total at checkout

Biodiversity bundles

Ropes left in the water as habitat rather than harvested.

  • Monitored across a full cycle by eye, drone and water quality
  • Species recruitment recorded on and around the line
  • Suited to funders whose interest is the ecosystem
  • No harvest, so no land farm leg

Research partnerships

Co-funded trials with our academic partners.

  • Methane reduction, soil carbon, biohybrid monitoring
  • Bournemouth, UCL, Graz and ATU
  • Naming rights and access to the data
  • Often grant-eligible alongside your contribution
Commercials

The farm sets the metre price. Volume moves our fee rather than theirs.

Each farm publishes its own rate per metre and receives it in full, whatever the size of the order. Our network fee sits on top and covers verification, haulage coordination, reporting and the platform. That fee reduces on bulk, so a twenty thousand metre programme costs less per metre than a fifty metre gift while the grower is paid the same either way. Orders close on 31 August because a hatchery needs six to twelve weeks to grow seeded twine before it can go to sea.

The account dashboard

What your staff and customers have grown.

One view per account. Where the metres are, what came off them, which land farms took the harvest, and who inside the business contributed. Illustrative account shown below.

Employee and customer schemes

Let them pick their own coast.

A metre of rope in the sea loch someone grew up beside tends to mean more than a line in a sustainability report. Staff and customers choose the farm, and the total rolls up to the company.

Allocate or match

Give each employee a metre allowance, or match what they put in themselves. Both run off one invoice.

Certificates handled for you

Each person gets a named certificate with their own serial, issued automatically. Nothing for HR to administer.

Customers can add at checkout

A metre added to an order, attributed to the farm the customer picks and counted in your account total.

Onboarding, milestones and gifts

Joining gifts, long-service markers and client thank-yous. Delivered digitally or printed.

Before you ask

This is not a carbon credit.

Sponsoring a metre of rope is not a verified credit and should not be used against a science-based target. It sits in beyond value chain mitigation. The carbon science on cultivated kelp is genuinely unsettled, and we would rather say so than build a claim on it.

What is clear is that the seaweed grows, the habitat forms, the land farm gets a delivery and the grower gets paid. All four are measured, and the measurements are reviewed by an academic partner rather than by us. If your procurement team needs the methodology in writing, it is on The Holdfast Standard page.

Tell us where you operate.

Send us your sites or your heaviest markets and we will come back with the farms nearest to them, their prices and their current scores.
